The truth is ... none of us deserves the unconditional grace and love bestowed on us by God, but God doesn't play by our rules. And even while we were messed up, lost and floundering fools, He came as a baby who grew into the God-Man we know as Jesus. His flesh, no different from our own, was torn, battered and nailed to a cross. His soul, wholly and Holy different than our own, sinless, pure, and united as one with the Father, died the most wretched death known at the time - a death reserved for the most vile criminals. Only Jesus chose to receive our punishment for us. He went before the Judge, He pleaded, and continues to plead, our case for us. He pays our debts, and because of Him when God looks at us, He no longer sees our mistakes, but a stamp of approval, signed by the pure, red blood of Jesus.
