Your Birthday
I wrote this for my daughter on her 23rd birthday. Not only is it true for her, it is true for each and everyone of us!
We would love to hear from you, please tell us your story. And remember, the ending has not been written yet.
Before you were born God already had a name for you … beloved, daughter, bride, princess. He was not caught off guard by the circumstances of your conception or the way you entered this world. He composed the song and choreographed the dance.
Inside your mother’s womb He orchestrated and designed each of your DNA - weaving them together into unique patterns and crafting intricate cells that make up the only you He has ever created or ever will.
Right now He is thinking of you and planning out the events and details of your life. Each millisecond and seemingly unimportant thing that happens He will use in order to fulfill His good purposes for you.
Today is a brand new beginning for you. No matter how bad yesterday, last week, last month or last year was; no matter who did you wrong or caused you pain; no matter the mistakes you made or hurts you inflicted, God promises new mercies with each and every sunrise. Live each day as though it is the very first one you have been given.
Honor God with His gift of life in how you spend your time, the choices you make, the things you say, and in what you take in … visually, mentally, and audibly. Of all the gifts you have ever been given, His is the only one that you cannot repay, cannot return, and cannot attach a monetary value to.
Depend on Him and only Him; His Word, His promises, His truths, and His Son … He lived and died for you. People will come and go in your life; they will disappoint you, abandon you, and betray you, but Jesus has promised to never leave you or forsake you, believe Him!
Ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will be open to you … He’s not talking about a brand new sports car or the house of your dreams. He’s talking about the stuff that really matters, the stuff that lasts, eternal things, that which will build His Kingdom. While He might decide to give you some of those earthly treasures, remember, they belong to Him. Hold on to them loosely and be willing to give them back to Him should He ask you to. The treasures He desires for you to have will be stored up in Heaven where thieves, moths, and rust cannot destroy them.
Yahweh is your God. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega, Messiah, Jehovah, Great Shepherd. He is called by many names, but there is only one God, one Truth, and one Way. Jesus is His Son, His life was real, the cross was real, His death was murder, and the grave could not contain Him.
