OUR TEAM
It's more important to be unified than right." ~Harmony Dust, Founder, I Am A Treasure |
The As you are Outreach Team is made up of a diverse group of women from Christian churches throughout the Sacramento area. Some of us have worked in the industry and are intimately familiar with its realities. In spite of our various pasts, each of us shares the common passion and purpose to see women realize their full potential and know how much God loves them.
None of us come into this journey as perfect individuals who have it all together. As people who make mistakes, we need the divine grace of God, and consistently seek Him to lovingly work in us and in our lives.
"People are broken through communities and find healing in communities." ~Hands that Heal
The need to be grounded in a church community is essential as we reach out to women and offer them a place to feel welcomed, safe, and loved just as they are. Having a church family, grows and teaches us how to connect and live in relationship with others and successfully demonstrate the importance of doing so. We cannot love others or our "neighbors" well if we are not intentionally spending time with them.
Our Board of Directors are professional people with vast experiences and a heartfelt desire to serve and meet the needs of the women we meet.
We all take our role in this ministry very seriously, and constantly work at being the best representation of Jesus we can be. In recognizing the challenges associated with working in the sex industry, and aspiring to provide women with the best possible care and support, we actively pursue training opportunities to equip and enable us to meet the needs of those who seek out our help.
